No. 4: From Studio to Show
Hi, Friend!
Iâm writing to you with a full and grateful heart after a beautiful 18 days at The Arbors Round Top.
If youâve ever participated in a showâwhether as an artist, vendor, or guestâyou know the mix of energy it brings: the anticipation, the long hours, the conversations that linger in your mind long after the tent is taken down. This year was no exception.
The new relationships, the Collectors, the way strangers became friends over a shared love of color, texture, and storiesâit was all so encouraging! I had the joy of sharing both original work and prints with new Collectors, offering original textiles and stationary cards to those who simply wanted a small, meaningful piece to take home. But more than that, I was reminded (again) why I do this work: not just to make art, but to connect.
If you were there, thank you for stopping by! And if not, Iâm so glad I still get to connect with you here, in this quieter corner of the internet.
Coming Soon: Watercolor Week: Provence Florals
Later this month, Iâll be hosting Watercolor Week: Provence Floralsâa free 5-day experience designed to help you ease into watercolor with intention and rest.
Whether you're brand new to painting or you havenât picked up a brush in a while, this is a gentle way to begin (or begin again). Each day will offer a short, encouraging video, a simple project, and a nudge to keep going, even if itâs just for ten minutes at a time.
Iâll be sending out full details soon, but for now, just know itâs comingâand Iâd love to have you with me! Itâs a beautiful opportunity to step into creativity without pressure, and to remember that practice is more encouraging than perfection.
This Weekâs Creative Prompt: A Memory in Color
Think back to a place or a moment you loveâa summer evening, a walk through a garden, a conversation that stayed with you.
Now, without worrying about accuracy, try to express it using only color. What tones come to mind? What hues carry the emotion of that memory?
You can use watercolor, pencil, collageâanything you like. The point is to let the color speak. You might be surprised by what surfaces.
Wherever you find yourself this weekâon the other side of a full season or on the edge of something newâI hope youâll make a little space to reconnect with your own creative rhythm.
It doesnât need to be perfect. Just honest. Just yours.
Warmly,
Gabi
