No. 4: From Studio to Show

Connect with Me

Hi, Friend!

I’m writing to you with a full and grateful heart after a beautiful 18 days at The Arbors Round Top.

If you’ve ever participated in a show—whether as an artist, vendor, or guest—you know the mix of energy it brings: the anticipation, the long hours, the conversations that linger in your mind long after the tent is taken down. This year was no exception.

The new relationships, the Collectors, the way strangers became friends over a shared love of color, texture, and stories—it was all so encouraging! I had the joy of sharing both original work and prints with new Collectors, offering original textiles and stationary cards to those who simply wanted a small, meaningful piece to take home. But more than that, I was reminded (again) why I do this work: not just to make art, but to connect.

If you were there, thank you for stopping by! And if not, I’m so glad I still get to connect with you here, in this quieter corner of the internet.

Coming Soon: Watercolor Week: Provence Florals

Later this month, I’ll be hosting Watercolor Week: Provence Florals—a free 5-day experience designed to help you ease into watercolor with intention and rest.

Whether you're brand new to painting or you haven’t picked up a brush in a while, this is a gentle way to begin (or begin again). Each day will offer a short, encouraging video, a simple project, and a nudge to keep going, even if it’s just for ten minutes at a time.

I’ll be sending out full details soon, but for now, just know it’s coming—and I’d love to have you with me! It’s a beautiful opportunity to step into creativity without pressure, and to remember that practice is more encouraging than perfection.

This Week’s Creative Prompt: A Memory in Color

Think back to a place or a moment you love—a summer evening, a walk through a garden, a conversation that stayed with you.

Now, without worrying about accuracy, try to express it using only color. What tones come to mind? What hues carry the emotion of that memory?

You can use watercolor, pencil, collage—anything you like. The point is to let the color speak. You might be surprised by what surfaces.

Wherever you find yourself this week—on the other side of a full season or on the edge of something new—I hope you’ll make a little space to reconnect with your own creative rhythm.

It doesn’t need to be perfect. Just honest. Just yours.

Warmly,
Gabi

No. 14 When I forget I am loved
It happened the other morning while I was scrolling through the news with my tea favorite Early Grey beside me. Another headline, another moment of questioning. The world felt unsteady again. I closed the screen, but the unease stayed. It wasn’t only fear about what might happen next; it was the quieter fear underneath—the question of whether I am really known and loved in a world that feels th...
No. 13 Weaving Beauty & Rest into Everyday
For a long time, I treated beauty and rest as luxuries. They felt like something I could only reach for once the real work was finished. But the work was never finished. There was always one more thing waiting, and the days slipped by in a blur of tasks and striving. It took a season of exhaustion for me to see it differently. I remember feeling worn thin, stretched to the edges of myself, real...
Searching the In-Between
There are seasons when the ground beneath us shifts, and we find ourselves caught between what has ended and what hasn't yet begun. It feels like searching in the dark for a door that won't open, waiting for a light that lingers just beyond the horizon. I find that the in-between holds both longing and ache. But usually in those in-betweens, the questions stir: Where do I go from here? How do I...
